Students Win with 2016 Jack Richardson London Music Awards

LONDON (Ontario) London and area students pursuing music at the post-secondary level in either the production or performance side could win a $1000.00 scholarship from the not-for-profit Jack Richardson London Music Awards.

This is the first year for the Jack Richardson London Music Awards Ken Palmer Bursary. Palmer was an integral part of the London music scene for over 40 years as a performer with the Dixie Flyers, Artistic Director of the Home County Folk Festival and a music teacher. Richardson was a world-famous music producer, based in London.

This year, two $1,000 bursaries will be awarded to graduating high school students going on to music education at either the Faculty of Music at Western University, the Music Industry Arts (MIA) Program; the Music Recording Arts (MRA) Program at Fanshawe College or the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART).

Award winners will be announced at the 2016 Jack Richardson London Music Awards – Sunday, April 17 at The London Music Hall – 185 Queens Ave. – doors open at 6:00 p.m. – the free show starts at 7:00 p.m.

Deadline for bursary application is midnight March 3, 2016.
