Country music is booming. Mainstream pop has evolved to be inclusive of many more musical influences, while country has expanded outside of its traditional ‘cultural identification’ to wider audiences. And the genres popularity has only grown during the pandemic. While the overall industry has risen only 2.6% on streaming services compared with its baseline pre-COVID numbers, country music has soared 15.8%. Not Your Grandparents Country Music Business focuses on how and why the genre is so hot and how artists can go from green Indies to solid gold hit makers. Join Country radio host Leeanne Whitehouse, Country 104 FM and this power panel as they discuss what it takes to develop artists, record new tracks and land them at the top of the genre.
Moderator: Leeanne Whitehouse
Leeanne Whitehouse is a graduate of the Radio Broadcasting program at Fanshawe College and received a B.A. in Media Information And Technoculture from Western University. Leeanne is currently the midday host at London’s Country 104 FM and also works as a voice over artist. Her voices over credits include work with radio, television and online videos for product launches. In addition to her work, you can find Leeanne cheering on The London Knights, supporting local businesses and biking along the Thames.
